FAQs

Quality Hardwood Floors, Inc.

  • How long does a typical job take from start to finish?

The duration of our projects varies based on their scope. Some installations can be completed in a single day, while larger jobs may require up to a week to finish. We always strive to provide an accurate timeline estimate before beginning work.
  • What's the difference between solid and engineered hardwood?

Solid hardwood is a single piece of wood, usually 3/4 inch thick. It can be refinished multiple times but is sensitive to moisture, making it best suited for above-grade installations. Engineered hardwood, on the other hand, consists of multiple wood layers with a hardwood veneer on top. It offers better stability and moisture resistance, making it suitable for basements and kitchens.
  • What's the difference between prefinished and unfinished hardwood?

Prefinished hardwood comes with a factory-applied finish, allowing for faster installation. It's more durable and can be walked on immediately after installation. Unfinished hardwood is finished on-site, which allows for custom staining and seamless blending with existing flooring. However, it requires additional work after installation before it can be used.
